In January, we quietly started publishing this journal with entries on art, design, fashion, and the natural and cultural landscape of Los Angeles. The journal is a big part of ALTAI; it gives us a place to offer some context for what you can expect to find in the ALTAI store and to write about the things we love. Now that our opening day is right around the corner, it seemed like a nice idea to take a break from our usual posts to give a little nod to those of you who have been reading for the past couple of months. Coming up, look for posts on some of the other things we’re up to at the ALTAI design consultancy along with our usual focus on our favorite designers, musings on the Southland, and art features like our friend Mark McKnight’s fantastic Nouns series. Austin Lynch’s Non-fiction column with posts on experimental documentary film will make a regular appearance, and you can look forward to reading Betty Hallock’s ideas about what we eat and where we eat it in her upcoming posts.
